    About the role#

    CenterPoint Energy is seeking a Civil Engineering student for a Fall 2026 co-op position. This role supports the Civil Engineering Group, which handles structural analysis, foundation design, and substation site improvements for Transmission, Substation, Distribution, and Telecom departments. You will work on-site in Houston, Texas.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist engineers with a variety of technical projects.
    • Update Access databases and Excel spreadsheets to track project status.
    • Provide project completion data to relevant stakeholders.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Civil Engineering as a sophomore, junior, or senior.
    • No previous work experience is required for this position.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD is considered a plus.

    • Location: Houston, Texas.
    • Term: Fall 2026.
    • Work Modality: On-site.
