    About the role#

    CenterPoint Energy is seeking a Gas Engineering Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This full-time, on-site internship in Houston, Texas, provides an opportunity to support engineering teams with various project design and data management tasks.

    What you'll do#

    • Assist designers with project design activities.
    • Research the status of public improvement projects.
    • Maintain and update project status information in Access databases and Excel spreadsheets.
    • Provide project completion data for public improvement initiatives.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment as a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior student.
    • Pursuit of an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
    • A strong GPA.
    • Demonstrated commitment to safety and reliability.
    • Strong research and data management skills.
    • No previous work experience is required.

    • Location: Houston, Texas.
    • Term: Summer 2026.
    • Modality: On-site, full-time.
    • Compensation: This is a paid internship.
