About the role#

CenterPoint Energy is seeking a Gas Engineering Intern for the Summer 2026 term. This full-time, on-site internship in Houston, Texas, provides an opportunity to support engineering teams with various project design and data management tasks.

What you'll do#

Assist designers with project design activities.
Research the status of public improvement projects.
Maintain and update project status information in Access databases and Excel spreadsheets.
Provide project completion data for public improvement initiatives.

What you'll need#

Current enrollment as a full-time sophomore, junior, or senior student.
Pursuit of an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial, Civil, or Mechanical Engineering.
A strong GPA.
Demonstrated commitment to safety and reliability.
Strong research and data management skills.
No previous work experience is required.

Location: Houston, Texas.
Term: Summer 2026.
Modality: On-site, full-time.
Compensation: This is a paid internship.
