About the role#
This is a 16-month internship focused on Operations Technology and AI solutions. You will work within the Operations Engineering team to support projects related to project management, technology innovation, and performance monitoring. This role requires working in both office and manufacturing environments.
What you'll do#
- Architect and develop software, data pipelines, and automation tools.
- Analyze problems, devise technical solutions, and implement them using code.
- Create data visualization dashboards and perform analytics on data streaming from factories.
- Model equipment performance using various data sources and interpret operations data for executive reviews.
- Manage cloud projects, DevOps environments, and production equipment connectivity.
- Project manage the deployment of tools and processes into manufacturing operations.
- Create requirements documents, technical reports, and training guides.
- Work with Google Workspace tools and develop scripts using Apps Script.
- Attend weekly department meetings and present monthly project reviews.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in a Computer Engineering or Computer Science program, having completed the 3rd year of a 4-year program or 4th year of a 5-year program.
- Python proficiency, including object-oriented programming, data structures, and clean code practices.
- Foundational web development skills (JavaScript, HTML/CSS, REST API).
- Understanding of standard algorithms, SQL queries, and spatial/matrix math concepts.
- Experience gathering, cleaning, and transforming structured data like JSON and CSV.
- Practical exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and running applications in Docker containers.
- Familiarity with Git, Linux/Windows environments, and Office productivity tools.
- Ability to evaluate code, isolate bugs, and read technical documentation.
- Basic exposure to machine learning or deep learning libraries such as OpenCV or PyTorch.
- Familiarity with asynchronous messaging, operations research, or web frameworks like FastAPI.

- Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
- Term: 16 months, beginning May 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $23-30 CAD/hr, determined by years of study completed.
- Note: This position is subject to the Canadian Government's Controlled Goods Program (CGP), requiring a successful security assessment.
