Audit & Assurance Intern - Spring 2027

About the role#

The Audit & Assurance Intern will support the team by executing detailed work plans and building professional relationships. This role focuses on applying accounting principles to financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, and other assurance services. Interns will work with an advisory mindset to provide value to entrepreneurial clients across various industries.

What you'll do#

• Assist Staff and Seniors with the preparation and documentation of engagement workpapers according to firm and industry standards.
• Identify and communicate potential areas of risk to the engagement team.
• Apply basic accounting principles to assigned sections of engagements, ensuring work is completed within budget parameters.
• Address review notes in a timely manner and remain current with evolving audit and accounting standards.
• Work directly with clients as needed and provide training to less experienced staff under the supervision of a manager.
• Adhere to information security policies to protect sensitive data and maintain confidentiality.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Effective time management skills, with the ability to handle changing priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to adapt to a wide variety of projects and think critically to resolve challenges independently.
• Availability to travel to client locations locally and occasionally out of state.
