About the role#
The Audit & Assurance Intern will support the firm by executing detailed work plans and building professional relationships. This role focuses on providing quality assurance services, including financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, internal audits, and SOC examinations. Interns will work with entrepreneurial clients across various industries while developing an advisory mindset.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff and seniors with the preparation and documentation of engagement workpapers according to firm and industry standards.
- Apply basic accounting principles to identify and communicate areas of risk within the engagement team.
- Complete assigned sections of engagements within budgeted parameters and address review notes in a timely manner.
- Work directly with clients as necessary and occasionally travel to client locations.
- Provide training to less experienced staff under the supervision of a manager or senior.
- Adhere to information security policies to ensure the protection of sensitive data.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management to handle changing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to a wide variety of projects and think critically to resolve challenges independently.
- Proactive approach to seeking opportunities for improvement.
