About the role#
The Audit & Assurance Intern role supports the engagement team by executing work plans and preparing documentation for financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations. This position requires an advisory mindset and the ability to work with entrepreneurial clients across various industries while mastering accounting concepts.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff and seniors with the preparation of engagement workpapers.
- Complete detailed workpaper documentation according to firm and industry standards.
- Identify and communicate areas of risk within the engagement team.
- Complete assigned sections of engagements within budgeted parameters.
- Address review notes in a complete and timely manner.
- Work directly with clients when necessary.
- Provide training to less experienced staff under the supervision of a senior or manager.
- Adhere to information security policies to ensure the protection of sensitive data.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management skills to handle changing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to adapt to a wide variety of projects.
- Capacity for critical thinking and independent problem solving.
- Proactive approach to seeking opportunities for improvement.

- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
- Travel: Ability to travel to client locations locally and occasionally out of state as needed.
