About the role#
The Audit & Assurance Intern will support the team in delivering financial statement audits, reviews, and compilations, as well as SOC and fraud examinations. This role involves working with entrepreneurial clients across various industries, requiring an advisory mindset and a strong grasp of accounting principles. You will work alongside staff and seniors to complete engagement tasks while maintaining firm and industry standards.
What you'll do#
- Assist staff and seniors with the preparation and documentation of engagement workpapers.
- Identify and communicate areas of risk within the engagement team.
- Complete assigned sections of engagements within budgeted parameters.
- Address review notes in a timely and complete manner.
- Work directly with clients as necessary.
- Provide training to less experienced staff under the supervision of a senior or manager.
- Adhere to information security policies to ensure the protection of sensitive data.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management skills to handle changing priorities and deadlines.
- Ability to think critically and independently resolve challenges.
- Capacity to adapt to a wide variety of projects and proactively seek improvement.
- Ability to travel to client locations both locally and occasionally out of state.
