About the role#
CBIZ is hiring a Tax Intern for the Winter 2027 term. This is a full-time, paid position based on-site in New Haven, Connecticut. You will work directly with our tax team to support clients across various industries, including real estate, construction, healthcare, and manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Assist in planning tax assignments across multiple industries.
- Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for partnerships, corporations, and individuals.
- Build your tax compliance knowledge while assisting with IRS audits and tax notice responses.
- Handle trust, gift, and estate returns.
- Participate in client projects from start to finish.
- Build professional relationships with client staff to ensure high levels of service and responsiveness.
What you'll need#
- You are currently working toward a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. A Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, and intranet software.
- Excellent analytical, research, and project management skills.
- Active involvement in student organizations or prior work experience in accounting.
- Ability to multi-task, think independently, and solve problems.
