About the role#
This 8-10 week internship program provides an inside look at consulting at Charles River Associates. You will work alongside senior colleagues, including PhD economists, CPAs, and valuation experts, to deliver live client projects. The program focuses on professional development and includes mentorship to help you grow your skills. Successful interns may be considered for full-time positions after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Conduct economic and industry research to help build understanding of case issues.
- Develop financial models and perform economic analyses to support case theories.
- Use programming languages like Excel, Stata, R, Python, SQL, or SAS to build models and run regression analyses.
- Investigate accounting irregularities, including allegations of fraud, misconduct, and waste.
- Prepare financial data analyses for litigation, expert reports, and testimony.
- Analyze large data sets to identify trends, anomalies, and patterns.
- Collaborate with team members to draft reports and communicate findings to clients.
What you'll need#
- Candidates pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with an expected graduation in December 2027 or Summer 2028.
- Academic focus in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of finance, accounting, and economic methodologies.
- Experience gathering, standardizing, and analyzing large volumes of transactional data.
- Skills in data analysis, including querying and mining large data sets.
- Ability to work effectively in a team and manage multiple tasks.

- Locations: Boston, MA; Chicago, IL; Houston, TX; New York, NY; Oakland, CA.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: Hybrid, with an expectation of 3 to 4 days per week in the office.
- Status: Full-time, paid internship.
