About the role#
This is an 11-week, full-time internship program running from June through August 2027. You will work 40 hours per week and gain hands-on experience in software engineering and operations. You will join the engineering team in Boston to build skills and expand your professional network.
What you'll do#
- Design, implement, and maintain observability systems covering infrastructure telemetry, application logs, metric visualization, and alerting.
- Scale how the organization operates across hundreds of services and over 200 engineers.
- Partner with SREs to refine observability requirements for incidents and postmortems.
- Promote engineering best practices across the organization.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Eligibility to complete a full-time internship.
- Hands-on experience with the Linux CLI.
- Familiarity with a cloud platform like Amazon Web Services.
- Experience with scripting or development in Python, Java, Go, or shell.
- Familiarity with Docker containers and an interest in Kubernetes.
- An interest in working within critical production environments and incident response operations.
- Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to learn.
- Bonus points for experience with Terraform, CI/CD pipelines like Jenkins or Concourse, and networking concepts like DNS, IP routing, load balancing, and firewalls.
Location & details#
- Location: Boston, Massachusetts.
- Work Modality: Hybrid, with an expectation to be in the office 60% of the time (approximately three days per week).
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Compensation: $35 per hour.
