About the role#
As a Leasing Community Intern, you will serve as a customer service ambassador for our residential community. You will help us reach our occupancy goals by managing the leasing process for new residents and supporting the needs of current ones. This is a paid, part-time position requiring approximately 20 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Manage front desk administrative tasks and answer leasing inquiries.
- Guide prospective clients through the community, present apartment homes, and handle lease applications.
- Complete the Cardinal Way of Leasing training and pass third-party leasing shops to earn certification.
- Maintain accurate lease files and participate in file audits.
- Keep the tour path clean and presentable for visitors.
- Help plan community events and assist with various property projects.
- Take on on-call responsibilities, including lock-outs and nightly rounds.
- Work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
What you'll need#
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours.
- Completion of at least one year of college with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Status as a current or future leaseholder of the community, living on the assigned floor.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Physical ability to navigate the property, including interior and exterior areas, in various weather conditions.
- A positive, professional attitude and a commitment to Cardinal’s core values.

- This role is based in Tallahassee, Florida.
- The position is on-site.
- Work includes evenings and weekends.
- Interns must re-apply for the position annually.
