About the role#
The Leasing Community Intern serves as a key representative of the community, focusing on high-quality customer service and resident retention. This role involves managing the leasing process for current and future availability while maintaining the property's standards. Interns are expected to collaborate with the team to meet occupancy goals and contribute to a positive resident experience.
What you'll do#
- Act as an ambassador for customer service to ensure resident satisfaction.
- Manage administrative tasks at the front desk and complete all lease applications and related paperwork.
- Maintain accurate lease file documentation and participate in file audits.
- Assist with planning and executing community events.
- Handle on-call responsibilities, including lock-outs and nightly rounds.
- Greet prospective clients, conduct property tours, and assist with the sales process.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the tour path to ensure a positive first impression.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours and a minimum of one year completed.
- Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Current or future status as a leaseholder of the community, with a requirement to live on a designated floor as assigned.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Availability to work approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
- Preferred fields of study include Business Administration, Real Estate, Accounting, or Marketing.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Allendale, Michigan.
- The role is on-site and paid.
- Work involves both indoor and outdoor environments, with exposure to various weather conditions.
- This is a temporary, non-exempt position requiring an annual re-application process.
