About the role#
As a Leasing Community Intern, you will serve as a customer service ambassador for our residential community. This role focuses on maintaining high occupancy through resident retention, leasing current apartment availability, and pre-leasing future units. You will work in a team environment to ensure our residents and prospective clients have a positive experience.
What you'll do#
- Manage front desk administrative tasks and duties.
- Greet prospective clients and answer incoming leasing calls.
- Determine client needs and preferences to present apartment homes effectively.
- Use feature and benefit selling techniques to close sales and follow up with leads.
- Complete lease applications and maintain accurate file documentation.
- Participate in Cardinal Way of Leasing and Cardinal U training programs.
- Pass third party leasing shops to become certified.
- Help plan community events and assist with various projects assigned by the Community Manager.
- Maintain the cleanliness of the tour path.
- Handle on-call responsibilities, including lock-outs and nightly rounds.
- Demonstrate a professional attitude toward team members, vendors, and residents.
What you'll need#
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours.
- Completion of at least one year of college with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- Must be a current or future leaseholder of the community and live on a designated floor as assigned.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and access all areas of the property.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Availability to work approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
- Ability to embody the Cardinal Culture and core values.
