About the role#
As a Leasing Community Intern, you will serve as a customer service ambassador for our residents. You will work to maintain high occupancy levels through resident retention and leasing efforts. This role requires you to live on-site at the community and participate in a rolling internship program while balancing your academic commitments.
What you'll do#
- Greet prospective clients and answer leasing calls to determine their needs.
- Present apartment homes and the community to prospective residents.
- Manage the entire leasing process, from application paperwork to closing the sale.
- Maintain accurate lease files and participate in regular audits.
- Keep the tour path clean and welcoming for visitors.
- Help plan and execute community events.
- Assist with administrative front desk tasks and other projects assigned by the Community Manager.
- Participate in Cardinal Way of Leasing and Cardinal U training.
- Take on-call responsibilities, including lock-outs and property rounds.
- Work evenings and weekends as scheduled.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university with at least 6 credit hours.
- Completion of at least one year of college with a minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA.
- A high school diploma or equivalent.
- A valid driver license.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Current or future status as a leaseholder at the community.
- Availability to work approximately 20 hours per week, including evenings and weekends.
- A positive, professional attitude and the ability to embody our core values.

- Charlottesville, Virginia.
- This is an on-site, paid position.
- You must live on a designated community floor as assigned by the Community Manager.
