About the role#
This internship provides support for individualized and group therapeutic recreation services within our campus-based programs. You will work alongside program staff to organize and facilitate intramural, recreational, and leisure activities for youth. This is an unpaid position intended for academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Support therapeutic recreation services for campus programs.
- Organize and lead leisure time activities for youth.
- Attend a mandatory orientation and training session.
- Complete goals as defined by your academic institution and site supervisor.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program for Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Good academic standing at an accredited institution.
- An established contract with your academic institution.
- A minimum 100-hour commitment.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Maturity, self-motivation, and the ability to work well within a team.
- Comfort working with families with diverse needs.
- Business professional or clinical attire.
