About the role#
Bloom Consulting is seeking two contracted instructors to support high school students with disabilities. You will work with students aged 16 to 22 to provide practical life and employment-readiness training as part of the Pre-Employment Transition Services program. This is an independent contractor position. You will help students build the confidence and skills needed for life after high school.
What you'll do#
- Provide individual and small-group instruction using curriculum provided by Bloom Consulting.
- Teach practical life and employment-readiness skills.
- Engage students in activities that promote independence and workplace readiness.
- Supervise students to ensure their safety during service times.
- Maintain professional interactions with students, school staff, and Bloom Consulting personnel.
- Track student attendance and complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
- Prepare for lessons, follow provided instructional materials, and maintain program supplies.
- Communicate student progress and needs to your supervisor.
- Manage receipts for clients and providers and review paperwork for accuracy.
What you'll need#
- A bachelor's degree.
- Experience working with students with disabilities.
- Availability Monday through Friday.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to complete documentation accurately and meet deadlines.
- Ability to pass a background screening.
Location & details#
- Locations: Chesapeake, Virginia and Isle of Wight County, Virginia.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Approximately 10 to 20 hours per week.
- Compensation: $25 to $30 per hour.
- Travel reimbursement may be available as part of the contract.
