About the role#
This internship provides support for individualized and group therapeutic recreation services within our campus-based programs. You will work alongside program staff to organize and facilitate intramural, recreational, and leisure activities for youth. This is an unpaid position intended for academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Support therapeutic recreation services for groups and individuals.
- Organize and lead recreational and leisure activities for youth.
- Complete goals established by your college and your site supervisor.
- Attend mandatory orientation and training sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or graduate program in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Good academic standing at an accredited institution.
- An established contract with your academic institution.
- A minimum 100-hour commitment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Maturity and self-motivation.
- Comfort working with families with diverse needs.
- Ability to work within an inclusive team.
- Ability to adhere to business professional or clinical attire standards.
