About the role#
This undergraduate internship provides hands-on experience in the delivery of mental health services. You will work directly with clients to support their behavioral health and social service needs. This is an unpaid position intended for academic credit.
What you'll do#
- Assist in providing individual, family, and group therapy.
- Support substance abuse treatment programs.
- Engage in clinical interventions tailored to specific client needs.
- Gain experience with various assessments, treatment plans, and case documentation.
- Attend a mandatory 40-hour orientation and training session at the start of the program.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate program for Social Work, Counseling, or a related field.
- Good academic standing at an accredited institution.
- An established contract between your academic institution and the site.
- A minimum 100-hour commitment to the program.
- Ability to meet goals set by your university and site supervisor.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Maturity, self-motivation, and comfort working with families from diverse backgrounds.
