About the role#
As a Developer Student, you will maintain and develop application components to streamline business processes. You will deliver digital solutions that support and enhance business operations while addressing organizational challenges. You will also provide application support to both systems solutions and business needs, identifying and improving data integrity problems.
What you'll do#
- Analyze, design, and develop applications, including application logic, user interfaces, data interfaces, data conversion scripts, and reports.
- Work with and learn from Systems Analysts and Developers throughout the application lifecycle.
- Learn and apply DevOps principles and Agile Scrum methodologies.
- Follow and maintain functional and technical specifications and documentation.
- Design new applications based on business requirements using C#, Python, SQL, and other scripting languages.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and fix problems that occur in everyday application use or SQL queries.
- Develop analytic reports using Power BI, Tableau, or SSRS.
- Manage multiple tasks and develop applications within the IBM Maximo EAM system.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in your 2nd, 3rd, or 4th year of a degree or diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Data Science.
- Knowledge of modern programming languages such as Java, Jython, Python, or C++.
- Familiarity with VB.NET, C#.NET, ASP.NET, Blazor, Entity Framework, MS SQL Server, or related technologies like Angular, Informatica, and Oracle.
- Legal authorization to work in Canada with no restrictions.
Location & details#
- Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada (Head Office).
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day.
- Terms: Winter 2027 (January start, 8 or 12 months) or Summer 2027 (May start, 4 or 8 months).
- Status: Full-time and paid position.
