About the role#
Cal Poly Pomona Enterprises is hiring five Student Research Assistants to work in the Chemistry and Biochemistry Department. You will work under the supervision of Dr. S. Chantal E. Stieber on projects involving C-F activation with first row transition metals.
What you'll do#
- Perform scientific experiments to study C-F activation.
- Use organic and inorganic synthetic techniques to create ligands and complexes.
- Characterize your work using NMR, IR, EPR, X-ray crystallography, and UV-vis spectroscopy.
- Search scientific literature and write research reports.
- Maintain laboratory safety standards and project documentation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at Cal Poly Pomona.
- A background in general chemistry, specifically CHM 1210 or an equivalent course.

- The role is on-site and full-time.
