About the role#
As a Student Lead for Dining Services, you will oversee daily operations and delegate tasks to ensure the dining area runs smoothly. You will handle inventory, manage staff assignments, and train team members on food safety and service standards. This role requires a blend of leadership and hands-on work, from preparing food to assisting with special projects.
What you'll do#
- Delegate responsibilities and oversee the completion of daily tasks.
- Train and guide staff on job duties and safety procedures.
- Assist with scheduling and assign daily work assignments.
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize work stations.
- Serve food and replenish stock to maintain appropriate levels.
- Provide customer service and handle guest needs.
- Prepare documents and manage confidential materials.
- Communicate work status updates to your supervisor.
- Perform general tasks including cashiering, dishwashing, and custodial work.
What you'll need#
- At least 6 months of job-related experience.
- Previous experience in food service.
- Current food safety certification.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to set an example for others by following all policies and procedures.
- Successful completion of required training programs.
