About the role#
As a Student Assistant in Dining Services at Centerpointe, you will help manage daily operations. This role involves a mix of food preparation, inventory control, and customer service. You will also take on leadership tasks, such as training staff and overseeing task completion to ensure the dining area runs smoothly.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and build food items following standardized recipes.
- Set up, break down, clean, and sanitize work stations.
- Serve food to customers and keep service areas stocked.
- Assist with schedules and assign daily tasks to team members.
- Guide and train staff on food safety, sanitation, and service standards.
- Manage multiple projects and assist with special assignments.
- Communicate work status updates to your supervisor.
- Handle general office duties, cashiering, stocking, and custodial tasks.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures.
What you'll need#
- At least 6 months of job-related experience.
- Previous food service experience is required.
- A valid food safety certification.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Capability to set an example for others by following policies and procedures.
- Successful completion of required training programs.
