About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for Summer 2027 based in Houston, Texas. You will work in a hybrid capacity to support our Information Systems team. This program provides hands-on experience in the wholesale grocery industry, allowing you to apply classroom knowledge to real-world projects. You will be paired with a mentor and buddy to guide your professional development throughout the 12-week program.
What you'll do#
- Support projects involving web and mobile applications used in our warehouses and by customers.
- Develop, test, and debug solutions across various platforms using Scrum and Agile practices.
- Adhere to established cloud architecture, development, and project methodologies.
- Assist with daily operations, administrative tasks, and the preparation of reports or presentations.
- Collaborate with team members to improve processes and enhance department efficiency.
- Attend meetings, contribute ideas, and build professional relationships across the organization.
- Complete special projects as assigned and deliver an end-of-internship presentation to showcase your learning.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with sophomore or junior standing.
- Good academic standing, with a preferred minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Experience with web and mobile application development.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Preferred skills include proficiency with React, Native, Node JS, REST, Java, databases, and Google’s suite of products.
- You must have work authorization that does not require sponsorship now or in the future.
