About the role#
The Editorial Operations Fellow supports the newsroom by managing administrative tasks and improving internal workflows. This six-month position offers early-career journalists a chance to learn how a digital newsroom functions. You will report to the Director of Newsroom Operations and work 40 hours per week.
What you'll do#
- Manage freelancer contracts and approve invoices.
- Coordinate award submissions and organize newsroom training sessions.
- Build and improve newsroom tools, processes, and automations.
- Perform general administrative duties to support the global newsroom team.
What you'll need#
- Experience handling contracts and invoices.
- Proficiency in Google Workspace, specifically Google Sheets.
- Practical experience using AI tools.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Academic background in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or English.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time fellowship.
- You must work from the New York City office at least three days per week.
