About the role#
Southwest Power Pool is hiring for a Summer 2027 Communications Internship. This full-time position runs for 10 to 12 weeks and provides hands-on experience in corporate communications. You will work directly with our team to inform and engage internal and external audiences while learning how we support the delivery of electricity across the central United States.
What you'll do#
- Create written, visual, and digital content for our website, intranet, social media, email, and presentations.
- Design and format branded templates, reports, and presentations.
- Draft messaging for various audiences.
- Support surveys and audience research to measure engagement.
- Assist with the planning and execution of stakeholder meetings and special events through logistics and materials preparation.
What you'll need#
- You must be a college student pursuing a bachelor’s degree or higher in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing.
- You should be entering your senior year or have completed at least three years of undergraduate coursework.
- A minimum 3.0 GPA is required.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- You must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, on-site internship located in Little Rock, Arkansas.
- The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
