About the role#
The Project Engineering Intern will support day-to-day department activities, project work, and process improvement initiatives. This role provides hands-on experience in a professional business environment, allowing you to contribute to meaningful work and develop practical skills related to your field of study.
What you'll do#
- Create and revise 3D CAD models, assemblies, and 2D drawings in Creo.
- Participate in or lead the creation of innovation concepts and develop prototypes.
- Conduct competitive product evaluations.
- Contribute to the design, development, and analysis of electromechanical components and systems.
- Perform routine engineering design tasks and calculations.
- Assist with standard testing and the analysis of test results.
- Prepare written summaries for meeting notes, assigned tasks, and engineering tests.
- Manage Engineering Change Notifications through the internal workflow process.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a degree, certificate, or training program in engineering, or a recent graduate.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical devices, electromechanical components, electrical connections, and home appliances.
- Ability to identify design problems using engineering principles.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Experience or ability to use basic mechanical tools and instruments.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Previous experience through internships, projects, volunteer work, or campus leadership is preferred.
- Interest in air, liquid, or particulate flow design and CAD software like Creo.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, on-site internship based in Hartford, Wisconsin.
- The term runs from June through August 2027.
- This position is paid.
