About the role#
As an Automation Controls Engineer Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in industrial automation within a manufacturing environment. You will work on supervised projects with specific objectives, supporting our Operations teams to improve processes and develop new systems. This role is designed to help you apply your engineering studies to real-world business challenges while working alongside experienced professionals.
What you'll do#
- Support automation development, including equipment construction, wiring, and electrical design.
- Work with robotics, vision systems, and logic controller programming.
- Coordinate project planning with Operations teams and Segment representatives.
- Maintain and communicate status updates for your assigned projects.
- Prepare technical documentation, summaries, and presentations.
- Learn internal systems, tools, and manufacturing processes.
- Follow all safety policies and equipment protocols.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an Electrical, Mechanical, or Computer Engineering degree program with at least Junior status.
- Practical experience with mechanical assembly or electrical wiring.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits and comfort working in a hands-on environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret data and provide clear recommendations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- A proactive mindset and the ability to handle a variety of tasks.

- Location: Hartford, Wisconsin.
- Term: Summer 2027 (June 1st to August 20th).
- Modality: Full-time, on-site.
