About the role#
Bridor North America is seeking a Culinary Institute of America student for a paid R&D Baker Tourier externship. You will work at our Vineland, New Jersey facility to gain hands-on experience in laminated dough and pastry development. This role focuses on the transition of bakery concepts from initial trials to manufacturing.
What you'll do#
- Assist with ingredient evaluation and baking trials.
- Prepare samples for R&D testing and conduct sensory evaluations.
- Adapt bakery concepts for a manufacturing environment.
- Record and document trial results while organizing recipes and notes.
- Troubleshoot challenges related to baking and lamination.
- Communicate your observations and present recommendations to the R&D team.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA).
- Approval or eligibility to complete a CIA Spring 2027 semester externship.
- Studies in Baking & Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or another eligible CIA program.
- Ability to work in a bakery and manufacturing environment.
- Strong interest in pastry, baking, and product development.
- Attention to detail with a willingness to follow recipes and document results.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.

- Term: January 5, 2027, through April 16, 2027.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $18.00 to $20.00 per hour.
