About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to work with the Execution Research team within the Brevan Howard Systematic business. You will contribute to the design, implementation, and evolution of execution research. The program begins with one week of in-depth training covering financial markets, trading strategies, and technical tools. You will work alongside senior professionals to evaluate trading performance and improve algorithms.
What you'll do#
- Participate in one week of in-depth training.
- Contribute to the design, implementation, and evolution of Execution Research.
- Evaluate the performance of trading activities.
- Improve trading algorithms.
- Develop methods to compare various execution strategies.
- Apply advanced statistical techniques to large datasets.
- Build execution performance frameworks and reports.
What you'll need#
- You are a penultimate year undergraduate, junior, or a first-year master's or PhD student.
- Your degree must be completed and awarded before July 2028.
- We welcome students from Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Finance, or Economics.
- Strong mathematical, quantitative, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Technical skills in Excel, VBA, and R.
- Programming experience in Python.
- Experience in Linux, SQL, and KDB/Q is a plus.
- An interest in financial markets, trading, and financial products.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Entrepreneurial spirit.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
