About the role#
PDT Partners is hiring PhD students and Postdoctoral researchers for our Quantitative Research internship program. This is a 10-week summer position where you will work closely with senior researchers on trading strategies and models. We value a rigorous, methodical, and collegial approach to research. You will engage with large-scale datasets and use significant computational resources to support your work. Beyond individual projects, you will participate in intern and company-wide events to engage with our broader academic culture.
What you'll do#
- Perform statistical modeling and conduct new signal research.
- Develop and optimize trading strategies.
- Collaborate with senior researchers on substantive projects.
- Participate in company events to foster community and curiosity.
What you'll need#
- Current PhD or Postdoc status in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Eligibility for full-time roles starting between 2027 and 2029.
- Strong mathematical and analytical foundation with exceptional problem-solving ability.
- Programming experience in Python, R, Matlab, or C++.
- Interest in working with technology and large data sets.
- Clear communication skills and a detail-oriented approach to your work.
- A self-motivated mindset with a strong sense of ownership and urgency.
- An entrepreneurial and creative approach to solving complex, real-world problems.
- Finance knowledge is not required.

- Term: Summer 2027 (10 weeks, early June to mid-August).

- Compensation: $200,000 salary, excluding potential bonuses.
