About the role#
PDT Partners is seeking Software Engineering interns for a 10-week program during the summer of 2027. Interns work closely with senior developers on individual projects and receive personalized mentorship. This role involves building and maintaining technology that supports the entire trading life cycle.
What you'll do#
- Design, develop, debug, and test software components for financial data, real-time events, and batch processing.
- Contribute to the infrastructure and maintenance of large-scale data sets.
- Develop tooling used for infrastructure management.
- Apply new techniques in areas including program correctness, maintainability, and efficiency.
- Work on projects that require creative problem-solving and the exploration of new technologies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in a rigorous field such as Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Graduation date of Fall 2027 or later.
- Strong programming skills with a deep understanding of data structures and algorithms.
- Intellectual curiosity and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Interest in working in a professional environment and a commitment to applying constructive feedback.

- Location: New York, New York.
- Term: 10 weeks, early June through mid-August 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $180,000 per year.
