About the role#
Garda Capital Partners is looking for a Software Engineer Intern to join the Research and Technology team in Wayzata for Summer 2027. You will work on production trading, risk, and operations systems used by traders and analysts. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Develop features and fixes for trading and operations applications using C#.NET, and SQL.
- Support senior staff in designing, building, and testing complete solutions.
- Write automated tests and participate in code reviews.
- Assist with web UI development using TypeScript and React.
- Write automation or analysis scripts in Python as needed.
- Provide support for in-house and third-party applications by investigating production issues.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Quantitative Finance.
- Working knowledge of at least one statically typed, object-oriented language like C#, Java, or C++.
- Experience with C# and .NET is a plus.
- A solid grasp of computer science fundamentals, including data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.
- Working knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with the Python ecosystem.
- Experience with TypeScript, React, or gRPC is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to high standards for code.
- Ability to work effectively in a time-sensitive team environment.
- Detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
- Prior interest or experience in the financial trading industry, particularly fixed income, is a plus.
