About the role#
We are looking for an Infrastructure Engineer Intern to join our team in Wayzata during the summer of 2027. This position provides direct exposure to enterprise infrastructure, cloud platforms, and mission-critical systems within a global investment firm.
What you'll do#
- Assist with Infrastructure as Code initiatives using Terraform, OpenTofu, and CloudFormation.
- Support cloud infrastructure projects across AWS and Azure environments, including cloud migration efforts.
- Work with senior team members and managed service providers to maintain on-premise server infrastructure.
- Contribute to the monitoring, alerting, and availability of trading systems.
- Participate in backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure documentation tasks.
- Support physical infrastructure, such as audiovisual systems and access control.
- Assist with front-office and enterprise infrastructure support.
- Support Active Directory domain separation, including the transition from SCCM to Intune-managed endpoints.
- Improve new-user onboarding processes, including account setup, device provisioning, and documentation.
- Automate repeatable infrastructure and support tasks using scripts and workflows.
- Assist with network segmentation initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms like AWS or Azure, or a strong interest in learning them.
- Familiarity with at least one scripting or programming language such as Python or PowerShell.
- Interest in infrastructure automation, DevOps, and cloud technologies.
- Basic understanding of networking and operating systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work effectively in a high-energy, time-sensitive environment.
