About the role#
The Summer 2027 Systems Engineering Internship is a 10-week program designed for students to work alongside senior engineers on individual projects. Interns will gain hands-on experience by tackling technically challenging problems that support a quantitative investment management business. You will participate in both intern-specific and company-wide social events throughout the summer.
What you'll do#
- Solve complex problems that do not have well-defined solutions.
- Gain experience with multicast market data distribution.
- Automate the provisioning of cloud infrastructure, including compute, services, and storage.
- Develop GitOps-driven configuration management for global deployments.
- Add core components to cloud-based Kubernetes infrastructure.
- Analyze the latency impact of network buffering.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related rigorous technical field.
- Graduation date of Fall 2027 or later.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Intellectual curiosity, a problem-solving approach, and the ability to learn quickly.
- A proactive mindset with a sense of urgency.
- Interest in distributed computing, hybrid cloud architectures, low-level operating system performance tuning, and petascale storage systems.
