About the role#
As a Process Development Intern, you will work with cross-functional teams to build manufacturing processes for new medical devices. You will partner with research and development teams to turn designs into reality and work with operations to launch products that help patients. This is a full-time, paid summer internship.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with teams to establish and refine manufacturing processes.
- Manage the integrity of process plans, including material usage and task sequencing.
- Design, build, and test prototype devices based on clinical feedback.
- Conduct process characterization and validation experiments to find optimal manufacturing settings.
- Research and recommend new technologies for device production.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a bachelor or graduate program for Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Material Science/Engineering.
- Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2028.
- Ability to commit to a 12-week assignment during one of two windows: May 17 to August 6, 2027, or May 24 to August 13, 2027.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
- Previous internship or co-op experience.
- Effective communication skills and a desire to learn new technologies.
- Interest in working in a medical device environment where real products are manufactured.
Location & details#
- Location: Maple Grove, Minnesota.
- Work Modality: Hybrid (requires being in the office at least four days per week).
- Transportation: You must have reliable transportation to and from the site.
- Note: This role is designated as safety-sensitive and requires a prohibited substance test.
