About the role#
The Manufacturing Engineering Associate works with the Mississauga Site Operations team to support catheter assembly processes and equipment. You will collaborate with Manufacturing Engineers, Production staff, Quality Engineers, and Maintenance Technicians to resolve production issues and improve existing processes. This is a 12-month internship starting in January 2027.
What you'll do#
- Provide engineering support to production lines to resolve technical issues.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on root cause investigations.
- Work with subject matter experts to conduct process improvement activities.
- Design and introduce manufacturing processes and tools to improve safety, quality, cost, and efficiency.
- Assist with the development and execution of process validation and test plans.
- Lead LEAN initiatives to improve manufacturing processes.
- Prepare technical documentation, including drawings and work instructions.
- Provide training for new tools and equipment.
- Maintain compliance with the Quality Policy to support patient safety and product quality.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in or recent graduation from a Bachelor of Engineering program, specifically Biomedical or Mechanical Engineering.
- A strong interest in biomedical technology, manufacturing processes, and working in a production or lab environment.
- A proactive, hands-on approach to problem solving.
- Basic understanding of process development, root cause analysis, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills.
- Working knowledge of SolidWorks, MS Office, and Minitab or similar statistical software.
- Previous experience in a highly regulated manufacturing environment and knowledge of Six Sigma or LEAN principles are preferred.
