    About the role#

    As a Process Development Engineering Intern, you will help bridge the gap between research and development and manufacturing. You will work on technologies and systems that enable new medical products and therapies. This role is for students who enjoy hands-on problem solving, equipment development, and data-driven engineering. You will contribute to projects across business areas such as Electrophysiology, Cardiac Rhythm Management, Diagnostics, Endoscopy, and Urology.

    What you'll do#

    • Connect research and development to manufacturing by building robust processes and systems.
    • Develop manufacturing processes and test systems capable of scaling to high-volume production while reducing variation.
    • Work hands-on with equipment to design, build, test, and troubleshoot fixtures and tooling.
    • Apply statistical methods and engineering analysis to evaluate process performance.
    • Support process development tasks including laser processing, bonding, mechanical testing, molding, and validation.
    • Partner with cross-functional teams to implement new capabilities.
    • Maintain the integrity of process plans and develop manufacturing instructions.
    • Ensure all work conforms to global process development procedures and quality requirements.

    What you'll need#

    • Current pursuit of a bachelor’s or graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Material Science.
    • Graduation date between Fall 2027 and Spring 2029.
    • Ability to commit to a full 12-week assignment during Summer 2027.
    • Eligibility to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.
    • Hands-on experience with mechanical design, manufacturing, or fixture development through coursework or projects.
    • Proficiency with SolidWorks or other CAD tools.
    • Ability to perform data analysis using tools like Minitab, JMP, or Excel.
    • Exposure to Six Sigma, process validation, 3D printing, or materials science is helpful.
    • Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate clearly.
    • Intellectual curiosity and a motivation to work in a team environment.

    Location & details#

    • Location: Arden Hills, Minnesota.
    • Modality: Hybrid (requires at least four days per week in the office).
    • Transportation: Reliable transportation to the Arden Hills corporate location is required.
    • Status: Full-time, paid internship.
