    About the role#

    This internship is within the Active Implantable Systems (AIS) group, which designs products to monitor and treat heart conditions like heart failure and irregular rhythms. You will work on-site in Arden Hills, Minnesota, to support the development of implantable medical devices. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.

    What you'll do#

    • Contribute to the design and development of implantable medical devices.
    • Use CAD tools and mechanical design principles to develop components.
    • Build and test prototypes to validate device performance and reliability.
    • Perform statistical data analysis and use design of experiments (DOE) to optimize outcomes.
    • Integrate biomechanics considerations into device designs to improve patient outcomes.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure device safety and functionality.

    What you'll need#

    • Current enrollment in a Master’s degree program for Biomedical Engineering.
    • Graduation date no later than December 2027.
    • Previous internship experience specifically within the Boston Scientific AIS R&D department.
    • Ability to start the internship on May 17th or May 24th, 2027, for a 12-week duration.
    • Reliable transportation to and from the work site.

    • Location: Arden Hills, Minnesota.
    • Modality: On-site, five days per week.
