About the role#
The Active Implantable Systems group at Boston Scientific develops technologies to monitor, diagnose, and treat heart conditions like heart failure and irregular heart rhythms. This internship focuses on research and development for implantable devices. You will work on-site in Arden Hills, Minnesota, for a 12-week term starting in the summer of 2027.
What you'll do#
- Build deep learning models to predict cardiac events based on ECG and physiological signals.
- Use signal processing to clean, analyze, and interpret biosignals.
- Help design AI and machine learning algorithms that improve how implantable devices perform.
- Partner with engineers to integrate Python-based tools for data analysis and model validation.
- Examine large datasets from implantable devices to find patterns that inform future therapy development.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a PhD in Medical Informatics.
- You have completed a prior internship within the Boston Scientific AIS R&D department.
- You can start your internship on either May 17th or May 24th, 2027.
- You have reliable transportation to and from the office.
