About the role#
As an R&D Hardware Engineer Intern, you will join the Active Implantable Systems group. You will work on technologies that treat heart failure, irregular heart rhythms, and sudden cardiac arrest. This role is based on-site at our Arden Hills facility and requires a full-time commitment for the duration of the internship.
What you'll do#
- Support the design and development of implantable cardiac devices.
- Conduct testing and validation activities to assess device performance, safety, and reliability.
- Use LabVIEW to manage instrumentation control, data acquisition, and automated testing workflows.
- Apply Python to support modeling, data analysis, and process automation for R&D projects.
- Use basic statistical and data analytics techniques to interpret test results and guide design decisions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to ensure device functionality meets clinical and regulatory requirements.
What you'll need#
- You are currently pursuing a Bachelors degree in Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering with a graduation date by May 2028.
- You have completed a prior internship with the Boston Scientific AIS R&D department.
- You must be available to start your internship on either May 17th or May 24th, 2027.
- You have experience with testing-related projects from school or previous work.
- You have reliable transportation to and from the office.
