About the role#
The 2027 BNY Summer Internship Program for Engineering (Developer) provides students with a 10-week experience in the financial services industry. Interns participate in Agile projects while gaining exposure to the firm's culture, business practices, and technical platforms. This is a full-time, paid, on-site program based in Pittsburgh.
What you'll do#
- Contribute to the end-to-end software development lifecycle by creating technical designs and building features, APIs, and developer tools.
- Use enterprise-approved AI coding tools to assist with development, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Apply engineering practices such as source control, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product partners to deliver reliable, secure solutions.
- Support software quality by identifying issues and testing implementations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program, with a preference for technology or business-related majors including Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, Mathematics, Cybersecurity, or Data Science.
- Graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Ability to work in the United States without sponsorship for an employment visa.
