About the role#
The 2027 BNY Summer Internship Program for Engineering (Developer) is a 10-week, full-time experience based in Jersey City. This internship provides students with exposure to Agile projects and the technical environment at a global financial services firm. You will work with languages such as JavaScript, Python, CSS, and Java while gaining insight into the platforms and functions that support our business.
What you'll do#
- Contribute across the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from technical design to release, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Use enterprise-approved AI coding tools to assist with development, testing, debugging, and documentation.
- Apply modern engineering practices, including source control, code review, automated testing, and CI/CD workflows.
- Collaborate with engineers, architects, and product partners to solve technical problems and deliver reliable solutions.
- Help improve software quality by identifying issues and testing potential solutions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program, preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Business Administration.
- Expected graduation date in December 2027 or May 2028.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Ability to work on-site in Jersey City, New Jersey.
- You must not require sponsorship for an employment visa now or in the future.
- An interest in coding and software development.
