About the role#
The 2027 BNY Summer Internship Program in Engineering (Data Science) is a 10-week experience for high-potential students. You will work on Agile projects and gain firsthand knowledge of our business, culture, and impact within the financial services industry. This role involves technical work using languages such as Python, JavaScript, Java, and CSS.
What you'll do#
- Apply data science and analytical methods to solve real business and engineering problems.
- Analyze data, perform profiling and feature engineering, and identify patterns, trends, and anomalies.
- Build and automate analytical processes, models, and tools that improve decision-making and efficiency.
- Partner with teams across engineering and the business to turn data insights into practical recommendations.
- Contribute to solutions that improve processes, uncover opportunities, and support smarter decisions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program.
- A strong focus on majors such as Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Business Administration, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Finance.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
- Graduation date in December 2027 or May 2028.
- You must not require sponsorship for an employment visa.

- This is a full-time, paid internship located on-site in Jersey City, New Jersey.
- The program term is Summer 2027.
