About the role#
The Risk and Compliance function establishes the frameworks, policies, and tools that support risk management across BNY. Led by the Chief Risk Officer, this team provides independent oversight and monitoring of risk decisions. Interns gain hands-on experience by working with global teams across key areas including credit, market, liquidity, technology, operational, compliance, model, and enterprise risk. You will help evaluate emerging risks and support responsible AI adoption while translating complex information into insights.
What you'll do#
- Support risk and compliance activities by helping teams apply frameworks, policies, and oversight practices.
- Analyze information to identify trends and assess how risks are managed across businesses and processes.
- Assist with reviews, reporting, and documentation that support governance, monitoring, and responsible AI oversight.
- Explore how AI, automation, and data-driven tools can improve risk identification, enhance controls, and support decision-making.
- Gain exposure to the full lifecycle of risk management and governance.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year undergraduate degree program, preferably in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Operations Management.
- Expected graduation date in December 2027 or May 2028.
- A minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.
- Ability to work without requiring sponsorship for an employment visa.
