About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer of 2027. You will work within our Environment and Sustainability department, where you will gain experience as a full-time employee while working on projects that protect the environment and reduce our operational footprint. Successful interns may be considered for full-time Management Trainee roles after graduation.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with subject-matter experts to advise on sustainability strategy.
- Develop strategies for managing scope 3 emissions sources in annual greenhouse gas reporting.
- Benchmark and create sustainability strategies to support customer growth.
- Partner with our advanced energy innovation team on sustainability projects.
- Use technology to support and implement sustainability strategies.
- Influence projects related to next-generation locomotives, facility electrification, and charging infrastructure.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Graduate degree in Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Sustainability, or a related field.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 2.75.
- Less than 3 years of professional or military work experience.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States without company sponsorship.
- Access to reliable transportation for the duration of the internship.
- Leadership, teamwork, and communication skills to meet project deadlines.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Fort Worth, Texas.
- The role is primarily on-site, with the option to work remotely one day per week.
- Daily work is conducted in an indoor office environment.
