About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will work on-site in Toronto, supporting the financial risk and internal controls team. You will help maintain the governance framework by reviewing policies, tracking updates, and ensuring processes align with current standards.
What you'll do#
- Review governance, policy, and procedural documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Identify and create efficiencies in existing financial processes.
- Coordinate and participate in oversight and governance activities, including reporting and training development.
- Assist with the maintenance, monitoring, and reporting of the governance program for internal and external stakeholders.
- Support the team by analyzing data and providing insights to help inform governance recommendations.
- Help manage governance meetings by preparing agendas and recording meeting minutes.
What you'll need#
- An educational background in Finance or Accounting.
- Typically 1-2 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced Excel skills, specifically with pivot tables, formulas, and VLOOKUP.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to present information to senior leaders.
- Experience with audit or test controls is helpful.
- Knowledge of Power BI, AI, SOX, or FDICIA is considered an asset.
