About the role#
This is a 4-month Winter 2027 internship position based in Toronto. You will work within the Data Analytics & Reporting group to apply advanced analytical techniques to large datasets. Your work will support business planning, decision-making, and the development of predictive models while ensuring all activities align with the BMO Risk Management Framework.
What you'll do#
- Use machine learning, deep learning, and artificial intelligence to mine structured and unstructured data.
- Design and build new processes for data modeling.
- Develop predictive models and machine learning algorithms to drive productivity and improve customer experience.
- Collaborate with product teams and other data professionals to scale analytics solutions.
- Conduct large-scale analysis to identify patterns, trends, and business insights.
- Provide recommendations to business leaders to maintain market competitiveness.
- Assess the feasibility of AI and ML solutions through data mining.
- Investigate new technologies and tools to support innovative data strategies.
What you'll need#
- A post-secondary degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
- 5 to 7 years of relevant experience.
- Advanced skills in data science, data management, and data analytics.
- Advanced experience with machine learning.
- Advanced proficiency in analytical problem solving, collaboration, influence, and data-driven decision making.
- Advanced proficiency in Agile frameworks, continuous process improvement, and facilitation.
- Intermediate proficiency in commercial astuteness, change management, systems thinking, and stakeholder management.
