About the role#
As a Data Analytics Intern at BMO, you will join our team for an 8-month term during the Winter 2027 semester. This full-time, on-site role is part of our campus program, designed to integrate you into the organization and provide hands-on experience in financial services. You will work independently to solve problems, contribute to data strategies, and support business decision-making processes.
What you'll do#
- Use advanced analytical algorithms, including machine learning and artificial intelligence, to mine and analyze large structured and unstructured data sets.
- Design and construct new processes for modeling data and develop predictive models.
- Conduct large-scale analysis to discover patterns and trends that inform business recommendations.
- Assess the feasibility of AI and machine learning solutions for organizational data.
- Collaborate with product teams and analytics professionals to refine and scale mature solutions.
- Investigate new technologies and tools to support innovative data solutions.
- Apply the BMO Risk Management Framework to ensure all work aligns with bank policies and regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an academic program in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics, with a plan to return to studies after the internship.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on data-driven decision making.
- Proficiency in Agile frameworks and practices.
- Ability to manage stakeholders, facilitate discussions, and influence outcomes.
- Experience or knowledge in continuous process improvement and systems thinking.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to convey complex information to business leaders.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to build and manage professional relationships.
