About the role#
This is a full-time, paid internship for the Winter 2027 term. You will join the BMO team to gain practical skills in data analytics and reporting. This role requires you to work on-site in Toronto, Ontario. You must be currently enrolled in an academic program and returning to your studies after the internship to be eligible.
What you'll do#
- Articulate the business case for analytics projects and define the value delivered.
- Design and build reporting dashboards using data extraction and cleaning techniques.
- Identify trends and patterns in large datasets to provide actionable insights.
- Translate business requirements into technical specifications for analytics solutions.
- Optimize, automate, and scale analysis into repeatable processes.
- Document data flows, systems, and internal processes.
- Develop tools and lead training sessions for non-analytical users on reporting tools.
- Enhance the usability and aesthetic appeal of data visualizations.
- Select and configure appropriate analytics tools.
- Apply risk management frameworks to protect bank assets while performing your duties.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program related to Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or Business Administration.
- Foundational proficiency in technical design optimization and systems thinking.
- Strong skills in data visualization, data storytelling, and data mining.
- Ability to think creatively and solve problems independently.
- Proficiency in illustration and insights design.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate within a team environment.
