About the role#
As a Cloud Business & Strategy Analytics Analyst intern at BMO, you will join our team for a 4-month term during Winter 2027. This full-time, on-site position is designed for students currently enrolled in an academic program who intend to return to their studies. You will contribute to our data analytics and reporting efforts while building your professional network through mentorship programs and internal student activities.
What you'll do#
- Translate business needs into technical specifications and articulate the business case for analytics projects.
- Design and build reporting dashboards using data extraction, cleaning, and visualization techniques.
- Identify trends and patterns in large datasets to provide actionable insights for decision-makers.
- Optimize, automate, and scale analysis into repeatable solutions for the team.
- Research and apply continuous improvements to data visualization to enhance usability and aesthetic appeal.
- Document data flows, systems, and processes to support effective management.
- Develop tools and deliver training programs to help non-analytical users utilize self-serve analytics.
- Apply the BMO Risk Management Framework to ensure all activities align with bank policies and regulations.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an academic program (Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or Business Administration) with a plan to return to studies.
- Foundational proficiency in technical design optimization, systems thinking, and decision-making.
- Strong skills in data visualization, data storytelling, and data mining.
- Ability to think creatively and solve problems independently.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- A motivated mindset with a strong desire to learn and apply new concepts.
