About the role#
This is a 4-month Winter 2027 internship opportunity with the BMO Corporate Actuary team. You will integrate into the team to gain practical skills while contributing to regulatory and management reporting. This role requires independent work and sound judgment to solve problems within established frameworks.
What you'll do#
- Execute calculations and analysis for regulatory and management reporting.
- Extract and compile actuarial data to ensure investment and risk portfolios meet guidelines.
- Assist with calculations required for the Appointed Actuary legal responsibilities.
- Review and analyze actuarial issues for presentation to the Appointed Actuary.
- Check and review model outputs used for actuarial liabilities, solvency reports, and capital calculations.
- Support the review of new product initiatives, economic capital, and financial business plans.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an actuarial program.
- Completion of 3 to 4 actuarial exams.
- A post-secondary degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or Economics.
- Typically 1 to 4 years of relevant experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication, analytical, and collaboration skills.
